Gratitude? No. Thanks? Never.

This land

Was stolen

Stolen

Stolen

And pillaged

Over and over

It’s over/

At our social justice

Community justice

Global justice

Climate justice

Racial justice

LGBTQIA justice

Disability justice

Events/

We speak

Into the Ether/

“I reside on the colonized land

Of the Piscataway, Accokeek, Cherokee,

Lakota, Choctow, Apache, Blackfoot, Mohawk”/

But what have we done?

What have we done?

God, what have we done?/

We eat excessively

We succumb once again

To the harmful myth

That First Nations people/

Were so grateful, so thankful

To witness the colonizers

Arrive with ill

Intent/

We are Indigenous

We been here

And there

But this land?/

This land

Was stolen

Stolen

Stolen

And pillaged

Over and over

It’s over/
