“Love in gratitude. Gratitude in love. This is grace embodied.”
It’s believed that in 1621, the Pilgrims invited Wampanoag Indians to a feast in the Plymouth Colony to celebrate their first harvest, and a good time, with turkey and pumpkin pie, was had by all. This is not how it went down.
Every fourth Tuesday of November, we celebrate Thanksgiving with eating lots of food and kicking off the holiday season (of shopping). I like to take this time to rest and relax more, and from this, allow for an active grace and gratitude practice to emerge. I let whatever comes up – whether that’s dance movement, a flowy asana practice, or sitting longer in meditation – dictate the grace I show myself. From this contemplative and presencing practice, I embody and sense gratitude for everything.
