Water,
We are
And yet we are not
Connected
To it as we must be
To survive and even thrive
Water,
My body
Is mostly and I drink its pure
Form to stay that way
Blessing each drop
Before consuming
Honoring each sip
Before sipping
Praying over each cup
So it can enter my cells,
Plumping them
Moisturizing me
Water,
My life flows
Up and down
Like streams, rivers, waterfalls
All around
Like ocean waves
I am often upended
For my own good
I allow it to take me
And I learn from the taking
Water,
My tribe suffers
Not having enough of
The elixir of life
To drink, wash, bathe, cook,
Use in libation and ritual,
Wield as medicine
Water,
My love for you is
As the cycle of life
Vital and soulful
I came through you and
I pray I touch you when I
Have to leave
Knowing you will be there
As you have always been
Pure and serene
