I had a dream last night

And you were in it, Mom

Every so often you are

Trying to tell me something

By being a trickster

Appearing as a blonde

Or by looking like me, except much shorter

With skin of honey and almond tanned hue

Like you did last night/

One time you appeared to me

In your favorite slate blue nightgown

I awoke with tears

Streaming down my face

Soaking the pillow

You were telling me to live

To experience, to love

To follow my passion

To live life while I have the chance

But the chance was gone somehow/

And although it has been years

Since your passing

Not one day goes by

Without me thinking of you

I know the power of love is

Stronger than death

That our love transcends

The rapture and the cosmos

I miss you so

I hug you and smell you

I feel the soft crepe thin skin

On your small hands

In my dreams

I love you/
